We had a fantastic opportunity to work alongside London School of Commerce who approached CCTV Focus UK – a leading CCTV installation company in Birmingham to supply, install and configure commercial CCTV cameras across several classrooms in the iconic McClaren building located in Birmingham City Centre.

What was particularly interesting, however, was the innovative use of this educational CCTV installation. The organisation is using the CCTV camera system not only for security and protection but also to live-stream lectures to students worldwide.

The recordings are invaluable for students who need to revise lectures and for management teams who wish to monitor and evaluate staff performance as part of their training and quality-assurance programmes.

Each lesson is recorded and packaged as a valuable segment of digital content, contributing to an expanding, technology-driven learning syllabus.

This intelligent use of commercial CCTV solutions allows the organisation to reach students from all corners of the globe, ensuring LSC can deliver high quality education standards to those who previously could not access such opportunities.

The CCTV system installation was carried out overnight to avoid disruption to LSC’s busy daytime operations, which include numerous lectures delivered to hundreds of students daily. Our team at CCTV Focus UK installed 48 high definition IP CCTV cameras, server cabinets, network switches and over 600 metres of Cat6 cabling across 2 floors.

The entire CCTV system installation was completed in just seven days – a true stealth operation, leaving no trace of the previous night’s work.
